Breaking News!

     Just got wind their gonna move the Poughkeepsie Skatepark. Yea, it's better than just scrapping it but word says it will be moved to Eastman Park on South Ave where the YMCA used to be. I'll keep you guys informed but check out Poughkeepsie Park Moving for more info. Here's something I took from their FB page:

Hello Poughkeepsie Skaters (and Bikers)! I got a FB message yesterday morning from someone in the know about waterfront development that said that the skatepark in Waryas Park will be relocated at some unknown point in the future to Eastman Park (behind the old YMCA). I went to the Common Council meeting last night and addressed the Mayor on this issue, as myself or others directly involved with the operation and maintenance of the park were never informed that it would be moving.

Now I am not necessarily opposed to it being moved, IF it means a new and better park! (meaning real concrete not prefab ramps)

I was told by the Mayor that the process was in the initial pre-planning stages and we (meaning) the skaters would be involved in the process. Stay tuned to this page for updates and tell your FB friends to LIKE the page and ADD IT TO THEIR INTERESTS so they see all the posts!
