If you aren't familiar with the rail trail in Dutchess county then just stop reading you fat Jr. Cheeseburger eating slob. The rest of you who at least know of the trail recognize it's a paved trail starting from the Hopewell Jct. train depot to the Walkway over the Hudson bridge replacing the now defunct trail line. It then continues into Orange County...Ulster County?... one of them. The Dutchess side is still incomplete at parts and won't be finished till 2013. Probably the most difficult and final project of the trail will be the walking bridge constructed over the six lane highway of Poughkeepsie's Rt.55 or the "drive really fuckin fast cause I'm really late to work or school" road. Closing down one of the most traveled roadways in the county is going to be killer on locals. My mom as well as myself travel that road almost everyday. Closings and delays is only going to bring "Nirvana listening teenage angst" middle-aged commuters. In the end I don't care knowing a trail connecting Hopewell to Highland and onward can give ease to unexplained rising gas prices (fuckin gas companies). No date for completion is set but my conclusion is the fall of 2013. Until then you might see a lot of these signs. CW
