Skate Film 2013

My brothers and I at Double-Headed Monster will be shooting a skate film this Spring and Summer. It will involve the skate culture featured in the Hudson Valley (as north as Kingston to south as Long Island). This isn't just your average skate video but much more with clips from concerts, unconventional techniques, insane cinematography, interviews, etc

The Hangover 4

Friday night I drove to New Paltz to see The Big Takeover at Snug's Harbor. I got my gas station goodies and was ready to skank till my angles snapped but I dropped a twenty-two and it cracked so I had to drink it in seconds. Pretty much after that is a blur of ridiculous free-styles down  Rt. 299, blunt wraps, and pondering the unknown. So really I just got too fucked up and missed talking to The Big Takeover. Plus I spent my last $5 on pizza so I couldn't afford the door charge and caught the remainder of the show on the bench outside sobering up. As you can tell the picture is not at the show but the nearby rail trail during the day.
What I remember staring through the window of Snug's was the Big Takeover tearing it up. I wouldn't call them truly reggae as I heard implements of jazz throughout their set. You need to see for yourself (cause I can't remember shit). Check their site: http://bigtakeoverband.com/
Every time I go to New Paltz their is always some sort of bullshit drama. One time I seen a chick and a dude get into an argument about how her dog acted when he walked by. It ended up with her spitting on the dude, and him screaming "You see that! She spit on me! I got AIDS! I got AIDS now!". This time around a drunken hippie left his baby in his car outside the bar. I mean he did leave the sunroof open. What really got me was the attitude of the bar patrons, well the moms at least. They formed a drunken search team to find the car owner while taking care of the baby. It might of taken 15 minutes but it got done. Fucking weird night. Thats the part I remember.
