Wow, what a night. The festival was held at the Center for Symbolic Arts New Paltz last Saturday (Cinco De Mayo). Real cool town and a real heady location. Three stages and all different types of music from Metal, Punk, Jam band, House, Dubstep, Folk and everything else. The crowd was a mass of body parts flailing, painted faces, laughter and drug rugs. Vendors everywhere (did you check out those sick Grateful Dead alpacas). But overall everyone I met was a really chill and supportive. The guy blowing glass has skill and goes to a lot of east coast festivals making glass live on the spot. After my interview with The FunDamentalists and the sun disappeared the Djs came on and out appeared Dollar Store glow sticks and Lightsabers. Typical raver shit. We all had a great time though and raged out under the moon and through sun rise. Money was raised for various charities, the campground was left just as clean as it was before, local businesses and vendors made some good money, but most important of all everyone had a sick time together and worked to make it an unforgettable trip.
Thank you to the Center of Symbolic Arts and all the people who help put this together, and made this a amazing experience. I hope it returns for a third time next year and continues to grow. Upcoming events like this will be posted so...KEEP CHECKIN THE SITE .
